Rotary Club of Flagler County

What is Rotary?

As a member of The Rotary Club of Flagler County, located here in Palm Coast, I’m asked many times “what’s Rotary” ?  The short answer is that it’s a service club but that doesn’t explain why people join and what they do when they’ve become a member.

Annual Fantasy Lights Festival

10th Annual Fantasy Lights at Town Center Central Park

Snow, Santa and Holiday Music Complements of Rotary’s Fantasy Lights
Some 40 animated light displays will dazzle the eyes, it will snow on cue , Santa will make regular visits and holiday music will fill the air in Central Park for the month of December with the Rotary Club of Flagler County's 10th Annual Fantasy Lights.
The free event will begin with the city’s tree lighting ceremony 6 p.m. Monday November 30 in Central Park and continue each night in December. A progressive dinner is planned for the opening night with tickets on sale at the tree lighting event with many area restaurants participating.
The holiday festivities will continue throughout the month with appearances of Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus scheduled and snow nights will delight the young and young at heart.
Train rides around Santa’s village for the children will run on scheduled nights, weather permitting. Music with a holiday theme will be performed by local groups and also broadcast on the parks’ sound system. Snacks and beverages are also available to purchase including S’mores kits where purchasers can roast their marshmallow over the fire pit in Santa’s village.
Entry is free but donations are appreciated to assist the Rotary to fund many worthwhile community projects.
“It is a great event,” Club president Matt Maxwell said. “It has become a signature event for the holiday season in Flagler County. “
“It takes a lot of community members to put this on each year,” Maxwell said. “Volunteers help us assemble the displays, local businesses and individuals sponsor the cost of the lighted displays. Our Rotary Club members operate the month long event and enjoy the reaction of the children and adults when they visit.”
Each night from 6:30 to 9 p.m. over 40 light displays will be turned on and visitors can stroll on the side walk around the lake to enjoy view. Accommodations are available for those unable to walk the loop.
